Amal Jyothi College of Engineering

Automobile Engineering is one of the core engineering departments of Amal Jyothi College of Engineering. This department offers 4-year B.Tech program in Automobile Engineering under the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. The annual intake capacity is 60. The objective of this undergraduate program is to prepare technically competent world class Automobile engineers for the industry and academia. Some of the important subjects taught during the course are Auto chassis, Automobile Transmission, Auto power plant, Advanced IC Engines, Auto Electrical & Electronics, Vehicle Dynamics, Fuels & Combustion, Engine & Drive line Design, Vehicle Transport Management, Automobile Engineering Drawing in addition to Mechanical Engineering subjects like Fluid Mechanics & Hydraulics Machinery, Metallurgy & Material Science, Thermodynamics, Manufacturing Process, Thermal Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, CAD, Machine Drawing etc. To see the detailed syllabus click here. Training programmes

“Create a smarter workforce and yield the best results” – Industrial visits and trainings are part of the engineering course, during which students visit / undergo training in companies and get insight of on the internal working environment of the company. It will also provide an insight on how companies work and also get useful information related to the practical aspects of the course which cannot be achieved through class room learning. Invited lectures and seminars by professionals from the industry and R&D organisations will expose students to latest developments in the chosen field.

Academy of CAD (AoC)

“Not only teach you, make you FAST” – CADD centre set up in the campus exposes students to computer aided design and drafting tools (Autocad, CATIA etc.) as per academic and industry requirements. Training is imparted by certified professionals. Certificate of training is issued by the Academy. Most of the engineering problems can be easily solved by the use of different CAD/CAM/CAE software packages. Training in AoC will help students very much in their final year projects. CADD training will surely give an edge over others in employment selection process. The course contents are constantly updated to adapt new innovations and implement the constantly changing Technology concepts.

“Smile while you drive” – Road safety is a key concern area for both the Government and the people on Indian roads. Safe driving today requires a higher level of confidence, competence and maturity, given the poor traffic planning, increasing number of vehicles, lack of professionalism in driving and untrained drivers on road. In a bid to address these issues, Department of Automobile Engineering of Amal Jyothi, has launched Amal Jyothi Driving Academy, an initiative for promoting safe driving under the guidance and full support of Motor Vehicles Department.
