ABOUT AICTE IDEA LAB
AICTE - IDEA (Idea Development, Evaluation & Application) Lab scheme was launched by AICTE on January 1, 2021 to establish infrastructure supporting new age learning in its institutions. This is aimed at encouraging students for application of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fundamentals on ideas - towards enhanced hands-on experience, learning by doing and even product visualization.
Facilities in the IDEA LAB can be used to provide training to students, faculty and interested personnel in various domains of product design and development, thereby making them industry ready. Getting awareness and expertise in such technologies will enhance the capacity to design and develop products on their own, which will echo the concepts of Make in India and Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiatives.
AICTE IDEA LAB @ AMAL JYOTHI
During the first phase of the nation-wide implementation of AICTE IDEA Lab project, AICTE has sanctioned a total of 49 IDEA Labs across the country. Kerala has three IDEA Labs in this phase and Amal Jyothi College of Engineering is one among them.
The AICTE IDEA Lab at Amal Jyothi was inaugurated by Shri Anto Antony MP on 25 August 2022. The IDEA Lab project implemented at Amal Jyothi is worth Rs. 1.28 Crores and is established in the Research Square building of Amal Jyothi.
The infrastructure under AICTE IDEA Lab comprises facilities for digital fabrication using the concepts of designing, reverse engineering, rapid prototyping and electronic system designing and fabrication alongside other critical tooling that are required in-line with development of an Idea or a product.
