About Us
ASME is an internationally renowned organisation known for setting codes and standards for mechanical devices. It is a not-for-profit membership organization that enables collaboration, knowledge sharing, career enrichment, and skills development across all engineering disciplines, toward a goal of helping the global engineering community develop solutions to benefit lives and livelihoods. ASME has Over 130,000 members in over 150 countries. ASME Standards are used in over 100 countries.
ASME AJCE
We began our journey by starting a student chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering on 17th June 2021. The student section thus became the first international professional society to be established at the institute under the mechanical engineering department. This student chapter began with 16 members under the guidance of Prof. Arun Thomas and is currently under the strong leadership of Prof. Saju Sebastian as student section advisor. The student section performed exceptionally well during the e-HPVC 2022 event, which was the first event that ASME AJCE participated in among various competitions organized by ASME.
ACHIEVEMENTSe-HPVC 2022 was the first event our student chapter participated in. Being 15th out of 49 universities that are ranked by ASME from the many universities that have participated worldwide in the event and also being ranked first in Kerala is an outstanding accomplishment for the chapter.
