A Landmark in Holistic Student Development
AJCE is proud to announce the establishment of its NCC Unit on campus, effective January 2026 — a landmark milestone in the college’s journey of holistic student development.
The unit operates as an NCC Coy (Army Wing) with an authorised strength of 28 cadets, affiliated to the 16 Kerala Battalion NCC, Kottayam, under the Kerala & Lakshadweep NCC Directorate. It functions under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, in accordance with the National Cadet Corps Act, 1948. The unit is open to all bonafide students of the college on a voluntary basis.

Aim, Vision & Organisation
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is India’s premier voluntary youth organisation, established on 16 April 1948 under the NCC Act XXXI of 1948. It is a Tri-Services Organisation comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, administered by the Ministry of Defence. With over 13 lakh cadets currently enrolled across the country, NCC is the world’s largest uniformed youth organisation.
Aim
To develop character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service among the youth of India.
Vision
To create a pool of organised, trained and motivated youth — providing leadership in all walks of life, always available for the service of the Nation.

To provide an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to take up careers in the Armed Forces and other uniformed services of the country.
Organisation in Kerala
The Kerala & Lakshadweep NCC Directorate oversees 26 Army Battalions, with Group HQ Kottayam commanding the 16 Kerala Battalion — AJCE’s parent unit.
We, the cadets of the National Cadet Corps, do solemnly pledge that we shall always uphold the unity of India. We resolve to be disciplined and responsible citizens of our nation. We shall undertake positive community service in the spirit of selflessness and concern for our fellow beings.
Motto · Unity and DisciplineA Structured Three-Year Programme
NCC cadets at AJCE undergo a structured three-year training programme leading to NCC ‘B’ and ‘C’ Certificate examinations, conducted under the supervision of the 16 Kerala Battalion NCC, Kottayam. Training covers both common subjects and Army Wing specialisations.
Drill & Military Training
Regular parade drills, arms training, field exercises and weapon handling under certified Army instructors.
Map Reading & Field Craft
Practical training in map reading, navigation, obstacle courses and basic field craft skills.
Annual Training Camps
Participation in Annual Training Camps (ATCs), Thal Sainik Camps, National Integration Camps and Republic Day Camp selections.
Adventure Activities
Trekking, rock climbing, river crossing and other adventure programmes that hone leadership and risk-assessment skills.
Community Service
Blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, tree plantation, anti-drug rallies and disaster relief assistance in the community.
Certificate Examinations
Cadets are eligible to appear for NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ Certificate examinations, which carry significant weightage in defence and civil recruitment.
