Commemorating India's 75 years of Independence and Digital Vision of the Nation, Professors & Students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering (AJCE), have developed and presented an e-Visitors' Book for Indigenous Aircraft Carrier Vikrant. The project is titled 'Adithi' (meaning 'Guest' in Malayalam). Dr. Lillykutty Jacob, Principal AJCE, and Dr. Z V Lakaparampil, Director AJCE handed over the e-Visitors’ Book to Cmde Vidhyadhar Harke, Commanding Officer, Vikrant on 04 Aug 22. The project was undertaken by a team of seven students headed by Prof Manoj T Joy and Prof Shiney Thomas. The student group includes Alan James, Aloyise Biju Mathew, Anandu Sunil Kumar, Anson Benny, Emal George, Febin K Dominic, and Glen V Pereira.
Adithi can capture handwritten comments along with photographs of the dignitaries and guests visiting onboard. It can operate in a no-network zone especially when the ship is at sea. This digital visitors' book shall become an archive of thoughts and wishes shared by the dignitaries, veterans, and the crew of Vikrant in the years to come.
INS Vikrant is the first indigenous and largest ship made by India, which includes indigenous designs and aircraft carriers for the Indian Navy. Now, India comes under the elite nations where it owns its giant power ship. As IAC-1 (Vikrant) gets commissioned into the Indian Navy, Project Adithi would provide a great digital experience to the guests onboard.
