A Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) is an online course aimed at unlimited participation and open access via the web. In addition to traditional course materials such as videos, readings, and problem sets, MOOCs provide interactive user fora that help build a community for students, professors, and teaching assistants (TAs). MOOCs are a recent development in distance education.
Although early MOOCs often emphasized open access features, such as connectivism and open licensing of content, structure, and learning goals, to promote the reuse and remixing of resources, some notable newer MOOCs use closed licenses for their course materials, while maintaining free access for students
Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are revolutionizing higher education. With some of the world’s best universities like MIT and Harvard (MIT OpenCourseWare & edX), Stanford (Stanford Online, Coursera & Udacity), IITs (NPTEL), etc. leading the way, thus ensuring quality, the vision of pioneers in the field like Salman Khan (Khan Academy) -“providing a high quality education for anyone, anywhere” - is becoming a reality.

MOOCs Interest Group (MIG) in AJCE is an initiative by Department of Computer Science & Engineering to motivate and support the students who are really passionate in doing MOOCs courses. The formal inauguration of MIG was done by Dr. Kalpana Kannan (Senior Project Manager -MOOCs content, IIT Bombay) on 27/10/2016. Walk & Talk
“A sound mind rests in a sound body”, as per the saying a healthy, wealthy , cheerful mind and body is necessary for a happier life. In today’s technology world students are getting no time in stress relief or any kind of physical activities. Academics are an important part of each student, parents spend a lot of time encouraging their teens to study more -- and play less -- in the pursuit of this goal. They believe that devoting a great deal of time to studying guarantees success in future. However, there is another more playful component of a well-rounded education -- outside the regular academic program -- that may positively impact students' success. Besides being fun and a great way to socialize with peers, extracurricular activities can enhance students' time management and stress management skills, improving overall productivity. Extracurricular activities also increase a candidate's appeal when applying to college.
In view of this pursuit, Outdoor Fun called Walk and Talk leisure activity is organizing in AJCE for all students. Once in every month all students are allowed to go for a walk and talk trip to any of the nearest nicest place where they can spend time together. Class teacher or mentor along with other subject teachers is allowed to accompany with these students. This helps to get a better understanding about their students and also help to create a good rapport with teachers and students. Refreshment and Snacks for both students and faculties will be arranged by the department and students.
A college education not merely involves the intellectual growth alone, but it should cover the overall growth of an individual. Not all of your learning will be done in labs and lectures. Participating in extracurricular activites in college will make your college experience that much more fulfilling. Getting involved in other activities on campus provides opportunities to learn things you won't study in a classroom.
