The aim of the Measurements Laboratory is to reinforce the students with an adequate work experience in the measurement of different quantities and also the expertise in handling the instruments involved. It also helps to train the students in the measurement of displacement, resistance, inductance, torque and angle etc., and to give exposure to AC, DC bridges and transient measurement.

Electrical workshop

This laboratory is used to impart practical knowledge to the students about the different wiring schemes, familiarization of megger MCB and ELCB. This workshop is established with the basic tools, trainer kits and accessories. The workshop is very imperative not only for the students of Electrical Engineering branch but also for the students of other engineering branches and provides service to all 1st year students.

Electronics Laboratories

Electronic Circuit Lab

The objective of Electric Circuits laboratory is to impart hands on experience in verification of circuit laws and theorems, measurement of circuit parameters, study of circuit characteristics and simulation of time response. It also gives practical exposure to the usage of CRO, power sources, function generator etc. This lab entrusts the student to study the characteristics, applications of electronic devices, such as p-n junction diode, Bipolar transistor, Field Effect transistor, LED, LCD & other photo electronic devices and Power control/regulator devices

Digital Circuits and Embedded Systems Lab

The lab offers an opportunity for the students to study the characteristics of linear IC's like Op-Amps, Timers, PLL etc. and Digital IC's like 74XX series. Application experiments using the above IC's are also performed in this lab. And it offers demanding practical revelation to the students in the field of microprocessor / microcontroller architecture and industrial control through microprocessors and micro controller. Lab also equipped with 8085, 8086 processor and 8051 microcontroller trainer kit and its interfacing peripherals, CROs, multimeters etc. to facilitate the experimentation as per curriculum as well as for aiding the project work and enhance their knowledge about the latest trends and technologies.

Power Electronics and Drives Lab

The objective of the Power Electronics laboratory is to study the characteristics of switching devices and its applications in rectifier, inverter and choppers. It also acquaint with the application of electronic devices for conversion, control & conditioning of electric power. Further it aids the students to acquire an overview of different types of power semi-conductor devices and to cognize the operation, characteristics and performance parameters of controlled rectifiers, to study the operation, switching techniques, modulation techniques of PWM inverters and to comprehend the harmonic reduction techniques.

Power System Simulation Lab

The aim of the Control system laboratory is to provide sound knowledge in the basic concepts of linear control theory and design of control system, to understand the methods of representation of systems and getting their transfer function models, to provide adequate knowledge in the time response of systems and steady state error analysis, to give basic knowledge in obtaining the open loop and closed–loop frequency responses of systems and to understand the concept of stability of control system and methods of stability analysis. It help students to study the compensation design for a control system. The design and implementation of control theory is done using MATLAB software to work out the experiments for open loop and closed loop systems. The lab is well furnished with MATLAB & PSPICE softwares, AC & DC servomotors, synchros, LVDT etc. to conduct various experiments for the III year, EEE students.

Power System Lab

The lab is equipped with state of the art device setups to introduce the various testing procedures used in power systems to the students and validate the performance of various Power System devices by conducting appropriate tests

Model Room

The model room is equipped with an aim to make the students familiar with different electrical devices and equipment. It helps in establishing a sound knowledge about the constructional details of machines and gives an insight about physical parameters of different apparatus.

>PG LAB

Power Electronics Lab

It is one of the most developed Laboratories in Electrical Engineering department having various experimental set-ups ranging from Power Electronics & Drives to its various applications in actual Engineering field. It is also accommodated by latest computerized simulation software for performing, designing, performance, measurement, Optimization and Analysis.

Power System Simulation Lab

The objective of the Computer Lab for PG is to grow familiarization with different aspects of modeling of components and system and different methods of analysis of power system planning and operation. It aims to fulfill the objectives such as to model steady-state operation of large-scale power systems and to solve the power flow problems using efficient numerical methods suitable for computer simulation, to model and analyze power systems under abnormal (fault) conditions, to model and analyze the dynamics of power system for small-signal and large signal disturbances and design the systems for enhancing stability. It familiariarizes with the preparatory work necessary for meeting the next day’s operation and the various control actions to be implemented on the system to meet the minute-to-minute variation of system load, to get an overview of system operation and control, to understand & model power-frequency dynamics and to design power-frequency controller, to understand & model reactive power-voltage interaction and different methods of control for maintaining voltage profile against varying system.

Energy System Lab
