Career Guidance Seminar for Youth
(HS, HSS & Degree students / Teachers / Parents)

As in previous years a comprehensive one-day programme of Career Guidance and Counselling, “PATHFINDER” will be held under the joint auspices of Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, ISTE and National Institute for Development of Youth (NIDY) at the College premises.
Career experts B S Warrier and Abraham Kurien IPS (Retired) will lead the Seminar in three sessions separately for- Professional Courses and Science Stream with emphasis on competitions including Indian Engineering Services (IES), GATE, GRE etc
- Commerce and Humanities streams with emphasis on Banking, Insurance, Law, Management, Economics, Communications, Social Service and the Civil Services
- A Joint session for all students together will be held in the afternoon followed by individual counselling for interested students, parents and teachers.
Programme Content
The one day programme consists of three strategies;- Exposure to a wide spectrum of different courses and careers open to students belonging to the Basic Sciences, Commerce and Humanities as well as Professional Courses
- Methodology of study and preparation for success in competitive examinations
- Individual Counselling of School/ College students

Sri B S Warrier popularly known as ‘Career Guru’ has been engaged in career counselling for youth ever since his retirement as Joint Director of Technical Education, Kerala. He writes a regular feature in the Malayala Manorama on courses and careers. The column is widely read. Sri Warrier conducts career counselling programmes both in India and abroad and has extensive knowledge on specialized courses in Science and Technology.
Sri Abraham Kurien IPS who retired as Director General of Police (Govt. of UP) and also served as Member of the UPSC Board for interviewing IAS, IPS and IFS candidates will engage the sessions on Humanities and the Civil Services. After retirement from government service, he has been conducting training programmes for school and college students focused on developing their general awareness and on identifying their aptitudes so as to enable them to choose academic courses appropriate to their individual abilities and to pursue careers that will lead them to assume leadership roles in society.
